Playa Escondida

Playa Escondida

For those of you who cannot wait for Holy Week vacation, let me introduce you Playa Escondida. This is a calm, clean and beautiful beach on the shores of Lake Izabal. Not more than a fifteen minutes drive from the road to Río Dulce, this is a must stop for those who want to witness serenity and beauty.

Let’s see who is the first one jumping off the pier!

Directions anyone?

  • Yes Eli, give us directions on how to get to Playa Escondida. I want to “discover” the Playa Escondida. 😉

    • Hello Rudy. It is very easy to get there. On the road to Rio Dulce, around seven miles after passing the entrance to Quirigua you’ll see an intersection they call Trincheras. Follow that paved road for six miles or so and you’ll find an old and rusted billboard for Playa Escondida and there you are. Enjoy! Shhh, don’t tell anyone..
