Holy Week Has Begun by Hugo Muralles

The idea comes from the local administration, It will start from Parque Central all the way to 18 Calle at Sexta Avenida. (Which means ten blocks, more or less) The carpet also will be a invitation to the recently elected pope, for some reason…

Either way, It will be fun to see. If you’re in Guatemala City don’t miss it!

El Remate is a small village on the road to Tikal, Petén. If you are still undecided on where to go for this Holy Week Vacation, this is a great option. The water here is clean and clear –you can see the bottom when standing on the pier- and very refreshing in fact. If you practice snorkeling, you’ll love this location. There is some interesting rock formations and –as I did- you might even find fragments of Mayan Pottery at the bottom of the lake.
Who wants to hear –read- local’s stories about the waters and the mountains behind?
