Malanga -Xanthosoma-

Malanga is a edible plant endemic to the Americas.

It is a little difficult to find, but if you ask around, you’ll get yours in no time.
The root of the plant is peeled off its skin, you sliced it in thin slices, deep them in a mixture of eggs, salt, pepper, olive oil and garlic powder (My recipe, there are Guatemalan ways to prepared them) and slowly deep fry them.
that’s it, that’s all you need. So if you are living in Guatemala and want to try something different and yeah, very very tasty, ask at your local vegetables store for some Malanga.
