Guatemala’s Mass Neutering

Having pets neutered might be too costly for an average Guatemalan.

At the vet’s might cost you Q1,400, $190 for the surgery. But there is an alternative with these mass neutering campaigns organized by students of veterinary medicine of San Carlos University where costs are insignificant and they come to your neighborhood. You can get yout cat or dog neutered for Q20, less than $3, which covers the cost of surgery supplies. Donations are encouraged but people rarely give any. And the surgery is performed by a certified veterinary surgeon.
