Abrazos Premier

Last night I had the honor of assisting to the Premier of Luis Argueta newest film Abrazos

a film narrating the first encounter between Guatemalan grandparents who had never been able to leave Guatemala and their grandchildren whom were born in the U.S.A. and had never been outside their new home-country.

Luis Argueta is an acclaimed Guatemalan film director, one of his most known works is the film El Silencio de Neto, film which takes places in 1954 during an U.S.A. led coup d’etat against the Guatemalan president Jacobo Arbenz.

I bought and watched this film recently and thought it was very good. As a guatemalan adoptive parent I find myself wishing for something simlar but with guatemalan adoptees in mind to share with my children.
