Guatemalan Lack of Common Sense

Often Guatemalan authorities come up with some rules and restrictions and infrastructure lacking common sense.
At Guatemala City’s only international airport, there is no proper waiting area for non-travelers. If your are waiting for someone at the airport, you have to sit on the floor outside. There is a small food court but only capable of seating about 50 people.

Living under siege

Guatemala suffers some of the highest crime rates on the region. This has caused a constant hysteria and business have taken extreme security measures, and in my opinion a lot of them just ridiculous.
This chain of gas stations often have security personnel at the entrance and exists. A lot of them have this barricades that only come down when comfirmation is given to the security personnel that kne is ok to exit.
