Chuchos from Rabinal

Street Dog
Rabinal is a small municipality of Baja Verapaz on Guatemala´s highlands.

The town was hard-hit by the civil war during the 1980s and early 90s, and apparently it has not recovered and economic development has yet to arrive. The town of Rabinal lacks much of an industry and most people live of subsistence agriculture and a very small sector producing ceramics.
During my travels I had never witnessed such an unhealthy population of street dogs and
I wonder if their health is related to the poverty of the town?
