Sololá off the beaten path

San Jorge La Laguna
When national or foreign tourists come to visit the Lake Atitlán Region, the most frequented places are the little towns around the lake

where one can enjoy local culture, diverse cuisine and the amazing views the lake has to offer.
Often people miss amazing places located off the beaten tourists paths. One can easily find these places by asking locals, a good place to start is to ask your tuc tuc driver.

Nice shots Eli. This past Semana Santa I visited Jaibalito. I’m still discovering that side of the lake. Well, since you included “national and foreign tourists’ in your comments, I would like to challenge you and see if you have ever hiked to the waterfall in San Antonio Palopo? I’ll give you a tip: you can’t get there in a tuc tuc.

Hello NYChpain. I´ve not been to those waterfalls yet. Those are the places I look for when I travel. I´ll put them on my list. I´m returning to the lake soon so that will be first on the list.
