The Faces of Mountaineering in guatemala

Monday, February 3rd, 2014

Mountaineering is a beautiful sport enjoyed by small groups here in Guatemala. This time I had the opportunity of hiking up with the group Kumbres, a small group of devoted mountaineers and I had the honor of being baptized as a Guatemalan Mountaineer on the summit of Monterrico Volcanoe, by a Guatemalan Quetzal.
I’m always amazed when I hear stories by “Quetzals”, a national title given to a person who has climbed all recognized Guatemalan volcanoes (37), when you hear their stories, it reinforces your spirit and you feel like visiting all the places they have been to.
Get out of the comfort zone if you want to experience this side of Guatemala!
