Panajachel Market

Friday, October 12th, 2012

Forget about sewing supply shops and handcraft chain stores. In every Guatemalan market you’ll find one of these tiny shops, preferred choice of any clever sewer, and don’t be misled by their size; they have it all.

I couldn’t resist snapping this shot in the Panajachel Market as a gift to my Mother, a savvy seamstress herself.

The market in Chichicastenango, Guatemala is quite an event. Lots of crafts, lots of people, lots of tourists, and you’ll get pushed around if you obstruct the flow.

If you still had any doubts about how colorful Guatemala can be, with this photograph you should be 100% convinced.
