Tiendas -small convenience stores-  are the most common business in Guatemala. It is not out of the ordinary to see four or five Tiendas on one single Street Block. In fact; tiendas are so common, you might even find Three of them on the Summit of Volcan Tacana.

Sea of Clouds over the Highlands of Guatemala by Rudy Giron

The view above is one that you might encounter when you flight into Guatemala during the rainy season when the country is mostly cover by huge cloud formations. The photo above, however, was taken during the dry season, in a very unusual cloudy day. I like how the clouds seem to be like the sea near a beach.

Guatemala have many beautiful views, but so far my favorite are the sunsets with his volcanos  and clean skies; these always look so peaceful in the middle of the concrete jungle. One would think that with so many buildings make these views hard to watch, but in really the geography of the capital city allow so many open spaces.

PD: Do you see the bright star? well it’s not a star, its the planet Venus.
